Disabled Veterans Exempt From VA Funding Fee

posted by admin on May 29, 2009 10:50 as VA Guidelines

One of the positives of VA Home Loan financing is that you can borrow up to 100% of the value of your home with no mortgage insurance.  That makes for an excellent payment compared other loan programs.

However, the negative of VA financing is the sometimes-hefty VA Funding Fee.  This can range from 1.5%-3.3% of the loan amount on a VA Purchase depending on down payment amount, type of service, and if VA Eligibility has been previously used.

It is a little-known fact, however, that if you have been deemed a disabled veteran, you are exempt from the VA Funding Fee.  This makes VA financing by far the best loan option for you.
